Discover downtown

With the opening of the 300 Block of residential condos, townhouses and penthouses and retail spaces on Hay Street, along with the more than 20 privately owned lofts, living in downtown Fayetteville has never been quite so vibrant and attractive.

Families, couples, singles, business professionals, military service members - folks from all walks of life are flocking downtown.

And why not? Just look at the amenities downtown has to offer.

For enlightenment, there's the Headquarters Library on Maiden Lane, the Fascinate-U Children's Museum on Green Street, the Airborne & Special Operations Museum on Hay Street and the Fayetteville Area Transportation Museum on Franklin Street.

For entertainment, you've got the Cameo Art House movie theater and Docks at the Capitol on Hay Street, and the Gilbert Gallery Theater on Green Street.

And there are plenty of restaurants and night life options throughout downtown to complement the peaceful greenery of Festival Park and Linear Park.

Like we said, downtown living's never been more alive.

A monthly occurrence (except in December), Fourth Friday is a free downtown celebration of art and culture that begins at 7 p.m.

Fourth Friday features new art exhibits at the numerous downtown art stores and galleries, as well as at the Arts Council (301 Hay St.), in addition to live entertainment from street musicians and other performers.

There's also plenty of shopping and dining options to round out your evening.

Call 323-1776 or go to www.theartscouncil.com for more information.
