DuPont employs 540 people at its plants off N.C. 87 near the Cumberland-Bladen county line and another facility on Cedar Creek Road.
M.J. Soffe has about 550 employees at a plant off U.S. 301. Owned by Delta Apparel Inc. of Duluth, Ga., the company manufactures sportswear.
The Logistics Co., based in Fayetteville, has about 1,125 employees across the globe. Of those, 349 full-time employees work on Fort Bragg or at the headquarters on Ramsey Street.
Fayetteville Publishing Co. employs about 350 full- and part-time workers in Cumberland County. The company publishes The Fayetteville Observer, The Sandspur, Carolina Trader, Next! Magazine and other publications, including its Asheville-based Iwanna classified-advertising publications.
Time Warner Cable 's Fayetteville operations employ about 325 workers in the county.
Lowes has about 307 employees at three home improvement stores.
