Here are some interdenominational resources that might be able to help you find a place to worship or lend a hand.
The Fayetteville-Cumberland County Ministerial Council is an interdenominational group of pastors that, among other events, sponsors the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Prayer Breakfast. In partnership with Cumberland County United Way, the council also sponsors the Cumberland County Day of Service. Information: 818-1228 or www.fccmc.net.
Operation Inasmuch is an ecumenical organization founded in Fayetteville that now stretches across the country. More than 60 area churches take part in the group's activities, the highlight being an annual blitz day where volunteers repair homes in a selected neighborhood and take part in other projects throughout the community. The organization recently moved to new headquarters at 531 Hillsboro St., where it will offer breakfast for the homeless Monday through Friday and skills training classes. Information: 433-2161.
Fayetteville Urban Ministry is an organization made up of four programs (Emergency Assistance, Adult Literacy, Find-A-Friend and the Nehemiah Project) to help neighbors in the community. Information: 483-5944.
